Evaluating the Appropriateness of English Textbook Used for Teaching English for Specific Purposes

One of the steps in creating a course that delivers validity and relevance for all design activities is analyzing needs students. Need analysis helps teachers to identify students’ learning English based on their daily future needs. This study intends evaluate textbook appropriateness students school’s ESP office administration program at SMK Setiabudhi Semarang. Hutchison Waters (1987) proposed theory was employed this research. The elaborates concept need should contribute target Target are linked what accomplish situation, while refer do learn effectively. applied descriptive qualitative research approach analyze information gained via student surveys, teacher interviews, document observations. study's findings demonstrate used deemed appropriate meeting both degree revealed that, average, satisfied 77% school 87% result expected give contribution materials ESP.
